The USC Libraries' Special Collections department invites undergraduates with an interest in history and archival research to apply for one of two Special Collections Research Assistant positions. This research assistantship will bring a team of two undergraduates into Special Collections who will work independently and collaboratively to process and publicize archival collections related to Southern California. Research assistants will be trained to use archival standards to physically process and organize the collection, and then will have the opportunity to create an exhibition that communicates the importance of the collections to a wider audience. This project will allow students the opportunity to learn about archival practices, primary source research, and exhibition creation. Research assistants will work 8-10 hours per week and will be compensated with a stipend of $1,500 per semester. Applicants must have some research experience and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
