New Feature on USC's Web of Knowledge eResource

ResearcherID is a helpful new customization option in the USC Libraries science eresource, Web of Knowledge. You can create a unique researcher identification number and build a list of publications that you've located using the Web of Knowledge. Then you can analyze the publications with citation metrics to measure the impact of specific articles--or the work of a single researcher--on a research field. The metrics include citation distribution per year, total times cited, and average times cited. These are helpful for assessing the influence of individual scholars in their areas of study.

The Web of Knowledge is accessible through the pull-down menu on the USC Libraries databases page. For more information, please contact science and engineering librarian Norah Xiao at nxiao@usc.edu. Norah has been working with Professor Steven Bradforth in chemistry and other USC faculty to establish ResearcherID services for the university community.
