The Los Angeles Times has profiled architectural photographer Wayne Thom, whose iconic images of such buildings as Los Angeles' Bonaventure Hotel and San Francisco's Transamerica Pyramid framed Late Modern design for the public. Thom's work is also celebrated in Wayne Thom: Photographing the Late Modern a new book by architectural historian Emily Bills, whose publication occasioned the Times article.
The book as well as the Times profile draw upon Thom's extensive archive, which the USC Libraries acquired in 2015. Since then, the library have since digitized nearly ten thousand photograph from the collection, making them publicly accessible through the USC Digital Library.
