Giovanni Nevizzano was a 16th century Italian jurist. His Sylvae Nuptialis is a study of law and marriage, and the usefulness, or not, of that institution. One of Nevizzano's arguments is the inferiority of women, and thus the importance of marriage as a way of guaranteeing the superiority of men.

Bound in vellum wrapper, which is partially detached; binding needs re-attachment. Requires a custom box for long term preservation.
