This public lecture accompanies the course GESM 110:  What Is a Book?, a freshman seminar that meets regularly in Doheny Library to study materials in Special Collections.  Professor Yerkes will discuss the process of printing books, as it is captured in drawings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, made on printers' waste.
